At last... SUMMER!

Although the weather today did not feel like summer, it is definitely here. I've started on my to-do list but still have lots more. I began organizing my new classroom today and got a lot put away, but I have a lot more to do as well! I'm hoping this packing/unpacking thing isn't a yearly occurence, as this is now 2 summers in a row that I'll have spent settling into a new classroom and going through stuff, stuff, stuff. I'm hoping to get the moving in and organizing done by the end of the week and then I'll just have to concentrate on going through the curriculum. DeAnn and I have a lot to figure out before the beginning of school and I'm sure we'll be spending LOTS of time together doing so.

One of my projects on my list to do is actually take care of my garden. So far I have quite a few tomato, jalapeno, and pepper plants in the ground, as well as some in pots in the house. I've also planted onions, corn, potatoes, and cucumbers. So far, the weeds are under control, but I can't make any promises to how long that will last.

I'm looking forward to VBS next week at the Middle School. I was hoping to participate in TBC's VBS as well, but what do you know- they fall on the exact same week! As usual, I will be working with preschoolers again. Last year, I really missed participating in VBS and I was set on helping out somewhere, whether in Topeka or Moundridge.

I'm also looking forward to watching my cousin run in State Track on Friday. Let's hope for beautiful weather, b/c it happens rain or shine! I'm going to be torn between wearing purple for the Burlingame Bearcats or red for the Moundridge Wildcats. Maybe I should take a change of clothes?

Have a great week!
