I can't believe tomorrow is the first day of March!

I don't know where the month of February went! I guess we were just so busy that we didn't have time to think about it. Last week was a ridiculously busy week for me, and this week hasn't been much better. While I've been busy with school stuff, Shaun has been working on the last "unfinished" bedroom upstairs. He pulled the paneling off and sheetrocked. Since he was making the mess, he decided to go ahead and pull the paneling off the stairway going up to the bedrooms and sheetrock that as well. We found some old wainscoating (sp?) on the wall, but had to cover it up to do sheetrock. We painted the stairway and bedroom the same color as we have in the kitchen. He found a matching door out in one of the buildings to match the other two bedroom doors, and we'll hopefully get them painted this weekend yet.

I finally had a day off from school on Friday (long overdue). I spent my day cleaning the house (which you probably can't tell that today since I got the scrapbooking stuff out). So the living room has become my scrapbooking room again and I've decided that I need to keep it in the living room because it is much more accessible.

Sorry this is such a boring post, but there's not much happening that is "blog-worthy."

Have a great week!

"I have a God that's holding me..."

I love this new song by Mark Harris and it fits so perfectly in this present time in my life. There are many things going on right now that this song touches. I am so thankful that I have a God who is in charge of it all and can handle anything. He's bigger than me, the government, and the world and He will take care of me!

Okay, so if you're wondering where this is coming from, here ya go.... many of you are probably aware of our state's budget issues. The biggest area the state is looking at cutting is education. With these cuts, many schools are not going to be able to keep all of their employees. This is where being a new teacher and non-tenured really stinks! There is the possibility that our district will have to cut some teachers and I may be one of them. I can get so worked up about this, but then I remember that God IS bigger than us and these problems. He CAN and DOES work miracles and I'm going to trust that He knows what is best and will take care of His children. I have handed this over to him and continue to pray for my job (and the others affected by this). I still have the habit of trying to take a little piece of it back and seeing what I can do, but then I remember to let the big guy have it.

So, I'm asking for your prayers for this situation and that everything will work out- because I really do LOVE my job and I don't want to go looking anywhere else.

Okay, so you can check this song out on YouTube (sorry I don't know how to add the video to the blog :( )

Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

Yesterday I got to go to my first KU basketball game and we had a blast! We had great seats and an awesome view of the KU bench. Here's a few pics from the day.
