God's Beauty!

When I walked out the door Thursday morning, I saw this beautiful sunrise and just had to take a picture. Too bad we have electrical wires running through the yard and can't have a "barn-only" scene. If you're like my husband, he never sees these amazing works of art (due to the fact that the sun has been up for at least an hour before he crawls out of bed!)

A Day with Kinslie...

Kinslie is 2 weeks old today and I got to spend most of the day with her. We went for a little shopping trip to Carter's and Walmart and then came back to our house for some cuddle time. Although she slept most of the day, I was able to see her eyes once in awhile.

Garden Goodies

So, my garden finally decided it was time to give me some goodies. I have had gallons of tomatoes turning red, so I have been making salsa, pasta sauce and pizza sauce. I canned about 15 jars of salsa and froze 4 pints of each pasta and pizza sauce. I also canned jalapeno dip mix and cinnamon cucumber rings. What a busy summer (and start of school year... as most of this has happened since school started.) I think I'm done with the whole canning thing for this year.

School is going good. I can't believe we've been in school for 3 weeks already! I've adjusted to the age difference pretty well. I miss my hugs I would get everyday from the 1st graders, but I'm enjoying the independence of the 5th graders.

Shaun and Dale were able to cut one field of corn last week and this week. Now with all this rain, who knows when they'll be able to get back into the field. Hopefully soon, or everything will be ready at the same time.
